Adrian Tinkler ACIS
Adrian came to the Isle of Man in 1989 as an accountant for a financial services holding company. In 1990 he was appointed Company Secretary and Claims Manager of that organisation’s self-managed captive insurance company and later was appointed a director of the captive and assumed full day-to-day management responsibility, supervising a staff of four. In 2001 Adrian was appointed a director of the holding company until it was relocated to the United Kingdom in 2002. Prior to coming to the Isle of Man Adrian was Finance Manager for a service provider company based in Dublin from 1988 to June 1989 and earlier in his career was Financial Manager for a major Travel Agent/Tour Operator in Dublin (from 1983 to 1987).
Adrian joined Marsh in July 2002 as Insurance Officer and moved to head up the Compliance and Company Secretarial functions in October 2003. He has functional responsibility for Compliance and Corporate Governance, including the AML and KYC roles, and for Company Secretarial administration of some 30 client companies, the majority of which are captive insurance companies. Adrian liaises with the Companies Registry, the Regulator and the boards of our clients to ensure these functions run efficiently.
Adrian is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and holds Chartered status. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ACIS). He was educated at The High School, Dublin to honours Leaving Certificate level.
Mark Long ACIS
Mark was born & raised in the Isle of Man. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1994 with an honours degree in law. Since graduation Mark has been employed in the in the Island’s finance sector, primarily in the fiduciary sector. Mark has worked at the Financial Supervision Commission since 2007 and is a manager in the Fiduciary Services team.
In 2002 Mark became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and qualified as a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in 2008. Mark became a member of the local branch Council in January 2013 and is currently branch secretary.
Christine Clucas BA Hons. Chartered MCIPD ACIS Dip M. MCIM
Christine graduated with a BA honours degree in history from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. She then qualified as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development, an Associate of the Chartered Secretaries & Administrators and as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Christine carried out a variety of managerial roles, in HR, pensions, customer service, estates management, PR and marketing for British Telecom, Manx Telecom and Isle of Man Post Office.
She is currently employed as the Business Change and Development Manager in the Corporate Strategy Division of the Isle of Man Government Treasury.
Christine became a Council Member in March 2013.
Elaine Shimmin BA (Hons). TEP ACIS
Elaine returned to the Island after obtaining an honours degree in American Studies with International Study from the University of Nottingham in 2004.
She was admitted as an Associate Member of ICSA in 2007 and in 2012 qualified as a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Elaine has worked in the finance sector on the Isle of Man for over ten years, joining local trust and corporate service provider Acclaim Limited as Manager in 2012.
Born on the Isle of Man, Francesca was educated locally at St Ninian’s High School.
After leaving school, Francesca began working for Integrated Capabilities Limited as a Company & Trust Administrator and successfully completed the Isle of Man Offshore certificate in administration. After completing this, she commenced her professional studies and qualified as a Chartered Secretary. She now works at IQE Limited as a Client Relationship Manager and has over 10 years experience in the industry.
In 2011 Francesca became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
Sandra moved to the Isle of Man as a child where she completed her secondary education.
After gaining an HND in Business Finance from the Isle of Man College of Further Education in 1994, Sandra joined KPMG as a Trainee Chartered Secretary and gained her qualification in 1997. In 1999 she left to join Simcocks Advocates as the Corporate Services Manager. During 2000, the Senior Partner of Simcocks set up his own law firm and Sandra joined him to manage the corporate arm of the firm, Atlantic Corporate Managers Limited. Caledonian took over Atlantic Corporate Managers in 2003 where Sandra continued to act as the Corporate Services Manager until 2006 when she was promoted to Managing Director.
In 2000 Sandra became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in 2008.
Sandra has been a member of Council and the Programme Committee since 2009.
Chris moved to the Isle of Man as a child where he completed his secondary education at King William’s College.
After gaining a BA (Hons) degree in International Business Studies and French from Liverpool John Moores University in 2000, Chris joined a local family run Corporate Service Provider, (which would later become part of the Intrust network of global offices) and began studying for the ACIB accredited Isle of Man Certificate in Offshore Administration.
In 2002, he left to join Moore Stephens as assistant statutory administrator. Over the next 8 years at Moore Stephens, Chris progressed to Senior Administrator, gaining a wealth of experience in the corporate and fiduciary services sector, with particular emphasis on yachting, aviation and real estate.
In 2010, Chris left Moore Stephens to take the role of Assistant Manager at West Corporation Limited, with a specific remit of assisting with the establishment of a dedicated yachting and aviation division.
In 2013, Equiom acquired West Corporation Limited. Chris continues to manage a portfolio of structures for High Net Worth Individuals with a particular emphasis on yachting, aviation and real estate.
Chris became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in 2012.
Chris was appointed as a Council member in May 2014 with a specific remit to head up the student sub-committee.
