Continuing Professional Development
Regular seminars are organised by the ICSA Isle of Man Branch Council. These are normally one hour in length. While precedence is given to members and students, Council takes the view that Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for all is essential to the maintenance of the high standards achieved and good reputation enjoyed by the Isle of Man. Council consequently welcomes non-members to CPD events. Please note that a small charge will be levied to non-members from January 2011.
With effect from 1 January 2011, CPD will become compulsory within the financial services sector. The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators introduced a compulsory CPD requirement from August 2011. Seminars arranged by Council provide a means of acquiring CPD hours on topics that are Isle of Man focused and of direct relevance to the Isle of Man.
Council arranges high quality speakers who deliver topical and relevant presentations which are an excellent opportunity to hear the views of some of the Isle of Man’s top professionals. Suggestions for future topics for future presentations are always welcome. Enquiries may be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seminars are followed by a dinner which is a good opportunity to meet the speakers, exchange views and to network with peers and colleagues in an informal setting.
Seminars start at 6.15 pm and are held from September to November and January to July. These usually take place at the Palace Hotel, Douglas.
